We have wanted to show off Compass to people without us having to set up an environment for a long time. Now, with the newest releases of Compass, we are actually able to create the calls needed to let people land on our website and start a self-explanatory demo all by themselves.
Back in May, we went for a week in Rome, with the idea to work and finalize one project with the whole team. Our idea was to create a fully functional product demo! That confidence was short-lived; getting to a new feature, with a new and bigger group of people, turned out to be a lot harder and more intense than expected, prior to going to the ancient city. Designing and building a new feature without restrictions meant we were enticed to envision a product that would never be ready in one week; confidence made room for the disappointment of not being able to deliver to the standards we had dreamt up.
With new courage and a lot of motivation the team pulled together and managed to deliver a demo that was not completely ready to launch, but was a very good stepping stone for what we wanted to deliver. We managed to use the newest version of Compass to make/ use features that allowed us to fulfill faster parts of the features that were still on our roadmap. For instance, all apps that are connected in the demo use single sign-on. The principles can be used to build a single sign-on in Compass as well. Also, by using the newest API calls, made it possible to prefill the content. Prefilling content can be used to make the onboarding of new customers better. Next to having a demo environment, all principles we used are very applicable in our newest releases to come.
Now, we are happy to say that we finally have a fully functional product demo! In just a few minutes, you will now be able to find all of our applications for free in one place and have much easier access to the Compass environment by just filling out a form, everything else is automatically generated!
The Compass demo allows an overview of all the applications! After filling out the form, an email is sent with a link, which takes the user to their personal Compass demo account, with a password, username and demo number that can be used for the duration of 14 days for free. With the demo account, the user can explore Compass Studio, which is our graphical user interface for managing the entire telephony platform of an organization. With Compass Studio it is also possible to set up a dial plan of a phone number to control incoming calls. Compass Studio’s most distinctive feature is its drag-and-drop user interface for creating a call route.
The demo account provides the user credentials to use Compass Bridge, Navigator and Panel. With Bridge, our contact centre application, which allows the full control over a desk phone directly from the desktop, the user has the opportunity to interact with the call centre app tutorial. With Compass Navigator, the mobile companion to our desktop apps, it is possible to easily adjust your availability and call route settings from anywhere. Finally, with Compass Panel, the user can experience monitoring their organization’s performance. Panel is a flexible and user-friendly web-based dashboard and wall display. It integrates with Compass, allowing managers and contact center agents to have a complete, real-time overview of the performance of a contact centre.
